Service Description
Course Overview This nationally recognised qualification is designed for individuals wishing to apply for a Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence to work as a CCTV Operator in public space surveillance. The course provides the knowledge and practical understanding required to operate legally, effectively, and professionally in CCTV control rooms across a range of environments — from retail and corporate premises to public space and event surveillance. The qualification is fully aligned with the SIA’s latest specifications and current legislation. Duration Learners will complete approximately 31 hours of total learning. The SIA stipulates a minimum of 22 contact hours (3 days) if self-study is undertaken. Qualification Successful learners achieve the Highfield Level 2 Award for Working as a CCTV Operator (Public Space Surveillance) within the Private Security Industry. This qualification is required to apply for an SIA CCTV Operator licence and is recognised across the UK security sector. Assessment Assessment is carried out through: - Multiple-choice examinations for each module - Practical exercises in CCTV operation and producing evidential documentation All learners are fully supported throughout the course to ensure confidence and competence in both written and practical assessments. Age Requirement Learners must be 18 years or over, possess good communication skills in English, and have the ability to engage with both theoretical and practical training elements. Cancellation Policy
Introduction These Terms & Conditions set out the basis of SALFS Security & Training Ltd (“we/us”) providing training and related services. By booking with us, you agree to these terms. If anything is unclear, please contact us for clarification. Quotations & Contracts ● Verbal quotes are not binding unless confirmed in writing. ● Written quotes are valid for 30 days. ● Bookings are only confirmed once we receive written acceptance. ● By booking, you enter a binding contract with SALFS. ● Variations must be agreed in writing. Payment & Cancellation ● Payment must be made in full within 14 days of invoice or before the course starts (whichever is sooner). ● Accepted methods: BACS, cheque, PayPal, credit/debit card (5% processing fee on card/PayPal). ● Cancellations: o More than 21 days before course: 75% refund o 14–21 days before course: 50% refund o Less than 14 days: no refund SALFS Terms & Conditions - September 2025 - Version 1.0 ● No refunds for non-attendance. Substitute delegates are accepted with prior written notice. ● Discounted courses are non-refundable and non-cancellable. Rescheduling fees: ● Incorrect ID, late arrival, or missing pre-learning → £150 rebooking fee. ● Medical cancellations (with doctor’s note) → refund less £60 admin fee. Services ● Normal training hours: Mon–Sat, 8am–4.30pm (excluding bank holidays). ● If SALFS cancels a course, you will receive a full refund. ● If you fail a required literacy test, you will receive a refund minus a £60 admin fee. Behaviour & Requirements ● SALFS may exclude any delegate who is disruptive, without refund. ● Delegates must: o Bring correct ID and pre-learning materials. o Arrive on time. o Follow joining instructions. Failure to do so may result in rescheduling at the delegate’s cost. Resits & Exams ● SIA exam resits: £50 per unit (next available date). ● If earlier exam required: £50 + £75 admin fee. ● Other course resits: price on application. ● Exam locations may change with 48 hours’ notice (within 50 miles). Liability ● SALFS provides services with reasonable skill and care. ● We are not liable for: SALFS Terms & Conditions - September 2025 - Version 1.0 o Loss of business, profits, savings, or data. o Any indirect or consequential losses. ● Our liability is capped at £2 million per incident (covered by our insurance). ● All delegates use SALFS premises, including car parks, at their own risk.
